"It's just the rain," he said,
As she looked up at the sky,
Seeing lightening start to strike,
As the clouds went rolling by.

He put her hands in his,
They held each other tight,
Never wanting to let go,
Throughout the stormy night.

Many years went passing by,
Some of tears and some of joy,
One day she became his wife,
And had a baby boy.

"Dad whats that," he asked,
Feeling something on his head,
He smiled down at his little son,
"It's just the rain," he said.

One night she wasn't home,
He waited anxiously throughout the night,
Wondering what was going on,
Wondered if she was alright.

At 4 a.m. the phone rang,
They said there had been a crash,
Nobody saw it coming,
It had happened in a flash.

Standing by a casket,
He held his young boy's hand,
"Where's mom," he asked
He was too young to understand.

"Dad why are your eyes wet,"
The little boy looked up and said,
He quickly wiped the tears away,
"It's just the rain," he said.
Ok...I have no idea what caused me to write this so don't ask, lol. I guess it's like a mini story in a poem so I don't know...it's kind of weird and um...sad. ^^; Um...yeah, I really don't know what to say about this so have fun reading it I guess...

A sad but well crafted poem, defiantly a narrative piece. You did a gerat job though establishing so much in a few lines, giving a glimpse into the characters and emotion.
